Intel as a leader in innovation and technology provides various data center solutions to a large number of corporations. At the Intel RNB Campus state of the art Tier 1 Data Centers are housing critical information that allow many of the US economy and industry to function. The RNB Campus in Santa Clara, is involved in engineering, design, research and development, and software engineering, and houses several corporate organizations, including sales and marketing, legal, supply network, and human resources. With more than 7,000 employees, Intel is the largest employer in Santa Clara. This campus is also known for its minimalistic environmental foot print, from 2013-2016 they had water savings of 180 million gallons and a 30% reduction in potable water use.
The Intel SC8 Bloom project will add 1MW of power to the existing SC8 Data Center. The scope includes demolition of two substations and installation of Bloom battery cell and associated switching technology between utility and Bloom Fuel Cell. OEG will also install a brand new 12kV substation and busway. Other major scopes of work consist of retrofitting all lighting to LED and providing power monitoring of all loads in Data Center integrated onto Intel’s energy management system.
